For beaches, you will find Park Beach right on your doorstep. a favourite for surfers. A short drive south, Jetty Beach is a protected, family friendly beach home of the iconic Coffs harbour Jetty. From here you can walk the break wall out to Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve for sweeping ocean views of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, a haven for a huge diversity of marine life, with scuba diving and snorkelling trips available for those keen to explore beneath the surface. From May to October, keep an eye out for humpback whales making their annual migration along the coast.
Solitary Islands Marine Park is a small group of islands, stretching for about 70 km along the Coffs Coast, from Muttonbird Island in the south to Plover Island in the north. More than 500 species of fish, turtle species and various marine mammals cruise around 80 species of coral and a host of active ascidians.
Coffs Harbour features several wildlife attractions, including the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House and the Solitary Islands Aquarium, focusing on regional marine species and education. The Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary operates as a wildlife rehabilitation and conservation park in Coffs Harbour, caring for animals such as blue penguins, Australian sea lions, dolphins and green sea turtles.
Nature lovers will also enjoy the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden, a green oasis in the heart of town with self-guided walks, picnic areas and lakeside paths.
Just a short drive from the beach, experience spectacular scenery at the Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout stands 15 metres high and offers sweeping panoramic views of the city, marina, and coastline — and it’s free to visit. Thrill-seekers can take on Treetops Adventure near Sealy Lookout, with more than 90 aerial challenges including 20 ziplines through towering gum trees.

No visit to Coffs Harbour is complete without a stop at the Big Banana — one of Australia’s oldest and most recognisable big things, built in 1964.
